Desk Installation: Supply and install a sturdy, custom-cut timber benchtop/desk surface inside the space at standard sitting height (approx. 73-75cm high), securely mounted to the wall studs. Top Cabinet Door: Supply and install a single cabinet door to cover the existing top shelf. This door needs to open upwards to the ceiling, so it will require appropriate lift-up hinges to hold safely. Cable Management: Drill a neat hole in the desktop for cables and fit a plastic/metal cable grommet. I'm looking for an experienced carpenter, cabinet maker or handyman to replace the latch mechanism on a pair of solid timber internal double doors in my Hawthorn East home. The original latch mechanism was approximately 100 years old and has failed. I have removed the old mechanism, so the doors currently have no latch fitted (see photos). The job includes: Supply a suitable replacement latch mechanism (or advise what should be purchased if preferred). Install the new latch. Fit any required strike plates or keepers. Ensure the double doors close neatly and latch securely. Make any minor adjustments to the doors or hardware required for smooth operation. The doors are original timber doors in an older home, so I'd prefer someone with experience working on older joinery and traditional door hardware. Please include details of your experience with similar doors.

One of the four soft-close hinges on a tall kitchen cabinet door has come away from the door. The hinge cup and screws have pulled out and the hole in the door edge is chipped/stripped, so it won't just screw back in. Looking for someone to repair the hole properly (dowel and glue, timber filler, or whatever you'd recommend) and refit the hinge so the door hangs and closes correctly. Door is currently hanging on the remaining three hinges. What's involved: Repair/re-anchor the stripped 35mm hinge cup hole in the door Refit the existing hinge (Blum-style clip-on soft close — I still have it and the screws) Realign the door so it sits flush with the others and closes cleanly Quick check of the other three hinges on this door while you're here Please bring your own tools and any filler/dowel/glue needed. I have the hinge and screws. Cabinetry experience preferred — I'd rather it's done once and done properly than a quick fix that pulls out again. Photos attached.

Looking for a carpenter to trim three doors after having carpet installed, plus trim skirting boards in one room for an IKEA wardrobe installation Skirting is about 235cm length on the back wall and 60cm on the side wall

Scope of works in both bathrooms (see photos): 1) Framework - Frame 2 x bathroom niches - Install noggins for vanity, towel rails, toilet roll holders, hooks etc - Patch floor using yellow tongue flooring glue and nail down (so that sheeting goes on) 2) Install cavity slider doors. Both cavity frames appear to be ok. 1 door is available and 1 door is bowed. -replace bowed cavity slider door with new one -Clean out cavity slider pockets -Attach doors to sliding tracks -Check doors are working properly 3) Straighten walls - Plane/pack studs to make straight for sheeting both bathrooms tasker to supply all materials. Need 6 cabinet door hinges adjusted/aligned so all 3 cupboard doors sit evenly and open/close properly without rubbing on each other or the cabinet unit. The current hinges are pretty cheap and don’t hold alignment well, so they may need replacing if adjustment alone doesn’t fix the issue. If new hinges are needed, happy to cover the cost of them. Please bring your own tools.
