I’m looking for an experienced handyman or carpenter in Melbourne to help me convert an existing closet space into a functional office desk. Current State: I have already completely gutted the inside of the wardrobe. Demolition: Carefully remove the existing wardrobe doors and the old wooden frame/architrave around the door opening, minimizing damage to the surrounding plaster. Desk Installation: Supply and install a sturdy, custom-cut timber benchtop/desk surface inside the space at standard sitting height (approx. 73-75cm high), securely mounted to the wall studs. Top Cabinet Door: Supply and install a single cabinet door to cover the existing top shelf. This door needs to open upwards to the ceiling, so it will require appropriate lift-up hinges to hold safely. Cable Management: Drill a neat hole in the desktop for cables and fit a plastic/metal cable grommet. Waste Removal: Please let me know if you can take the old doors and frame away with you, or if I need to dispose of them myself. height:approximately 210cm, length of doors from outside 120 cm but inside 170cm
