Prepare this area for painting and tiling by indoor rendering or boarding up and gap sealing the brick bits (photo 1) and sealing where the countertop meets the wall (photo 2 and 3). The red brick areas will be tiled. The rest will be painted. (Not by you 😊 I’m just asking for prep) And then add some sealer to the place the benchtop is sitting on wall. See photos.
