The skylight was removed by a previous owner and the ceiling has been plastered over. You can still see the outline of where the skylight used to be. During a recent night of very heavy wind and rain, I noticed a small drip coming through a crack along the outline of the old skylight. It has not leaked during normal rainfall, only during that severe weather event. I climbed into the roof space to investigate, but the original skylight cavity is still there, making it difficult to access or identify where the water is getting in. I'm looking for someone to: • Inspect the roof above the old skylight. • Check roof tiles, flashing and waterproofing for any damage or points where water could be entering. • Repair the source of the leak if possible. • Inspect the old skylight cavity for any signs of moisture, water damage or mould. • Assess whether the plasterboard ceiling below has been damaged and advise whether it needs repairing or replacing. I've got water damage appearing on the ceiling of a study/sunroom and need someone to find the source and fix it. The paint and plaster have blistered and lifted along a line across the ceiling, which looks like water tracking from a leak above. There's also a recessed downlight close to the damaged area, so there's a potential water-near-electrical concern to be mindful of. Broken roof tiles needs to be replaced. The replacement tile will be supplied, so the job is simply to safely access the roof, remove the damaged tile, install the new tile, and ensure it is correctly fitted and weatherproof.
