We’re a unit we have recently moved in our neighbours have been flushing things that wouldn’t be flushed down the toilet. Our shower is bubbling from the drain when we flush aswell as our bathroom sink and laundry sink. (Bathroom/laundry).

The main shut-off valve going into our water meter does not shut off the water completely (can see it has a bent spindle, it could be that). I would like it replaced with a ball valve. NOTE: This is NOT covered by the water company, as it isn't the block's main meter, unfortunately, but exists on a split block of units - but thank you to those who suggested that. I have some basic plumbing to do inside the house, but don't want to do it with a leaking water line, and don't trust myself to change the valve (the next shutoff is actually inside the neighbour's yard, and would hate to screw anything up). I would like to watch to see how it's done, however! During the day before 12:30pm would be best. NOTE: THE ROOT IN THE IMAGE HAS ALREADY BEEN REMOVED.
