Hi, I’m looking for a carpenter / handyman to build a simple timber bar-front on my deck to hide gas bottles under an existing stainless steel BBQ table. Scope of work: • Construct a front-only timber façade (no sides, no doors) • Fix to a small timber sub-frame (sub-frame can be fixed to deck or table legs) • Clad with vertical slats to match existing decking • Purpose is to hide gas bottles from front view while keeping sides and back open for ventilation and hose access Materials: • Use Ekodeck Leatherwood composite decking (same as existing deck) • Vertical slats approx 45mm wide with 8–10mm gaps • Colour-matched screws or neat concealed fixings • Treated pine or similar for hidden sub-frame Dimensions: • Front width: 1530mm • Height to cover: approx 620mm (deck to underside of stainless bench) • Leave small shadow gaps top and bottom (approx 5–10mm) Important notes: • No full cabinetry or enclosure • No doors • Sides must remain open for gas hose access • Clean, minimal, modern finish Happy to supply reference images. 3x 2.5m dense hardwood sleepers (very heavy) need 4 cuts each. 1x at a specific length, the rest just cut into manageable sizes to lift. I have crowbar/extra wood for lifting to height. I can also assist if times match.
