Looking for a spliced timber repair (“Dutchman repair”) — cutting out the rotted section and scarfing/splicing in new matching timber, rather than replacing the whole frame. The surrounding timber and glass appear sound; this is localised to one corner. There’s a metal piece visible behind the damaged section — please assess on site to confirm what it is (possibly flashing or a fixing) before confirming quoting, as this may affect the repair approach. Once repaired, I’ll handle painting/sealing myself, so quote for timber repair and make-good only (sanded ready for primer), not full paint finish. Looking for someone with joinery or heritage window restoration experience — not a general handyman, as this needs proper timber-to-timber jointing to hold structurally. Task 2: Ornamental Installation (Second Room) • Insert: Install a Schots Emporium cast iron insert into an existing fireplace opening. Note: This is ornamental only—no gas or wood-burning connection required. • Draft Proofing: Firmly pack the chimney throat with insulation to stop drafts before the insert is fixed. • Mantle: Professionally mount a timber mantle over the insert. We are looking for a clean, secure finish with no visible fixings if possible. Requirements: • Experience working with Victorian-era heritage homes. • Strong focus on weatherproofing for the external flue removal. • Attention to detail regarding the alignment and leveling of the cast iron insert and mantle.

We need someone to cut the legs 40mm shorter on a stainless steel bench top so that it aligns with an older unit next to it. The legs are hollow square profile thin stainless steel

Make a free standing wooden platform approximately the width of a door way that comes out about 60cm and about 15cm high (height of the step). It would be a platform in the living room coming from the corridor. It doesn't have to be flash, just something like e.g. a plywood top but strong to stand on and solid ie doesn't tilt/move etc. I currently have a small platform on bricks. Just want something better and firmer.

I have a three seating chair with some 4 x 2 timber on it to raise it so I can sit down. I need to raise it further so I need to add some more for the two timber and some felt at the bottom to stop it scratching the floor.

The window is around 4-5m high and will need to be accessed from a lane with a ladder. I will supply the Cutek timber stain and witches hats etc but do not have a ladder. Estimate this is a 1 hour job with some time to allow for x2 coats. I will be able to supervise the lane while the work is being done.

We installed an ikea kitchen awhile back but ikea failed to send us one panel, which now needs to be installed at the base of the cabinet. We have got the panel and it needs to be sanded back slightly to fit into the spot. We'd like you to buy brackets (and/or whatever else is needed to support the panel, and secure it to the wall), so please factor this into the quote. The wall is solid brick.
