We are looking for an experienced carpenter or handyman to repair and restore the front verandah at a property we manage in Ascot Vale. The verandah has significant issues that need addressing, including a top rail that has completely detached from one of the posts and several areas showing serious wood rot and water damage. As shown in the attached photos, the timber in some sections is badly deteriorated. The job will involve a full assessment of the damage, recommending and carrying out necessary repairs or timber replacements, securely reattaching or replacing the detached rail, and treating all affected areas to prevent future water damage. We will also need the repaired sections prepped and painted to match the existing finish for a neat and cohesive look. Preferably prior experience with verandah or timber restoration. Timing is flexible, but ideally we would like the work completed within the next one to two weeks. Please provide a rough quote & let us know if you would like to inspect the site. I recently purchased a Koala side table (you can see the product link here: https://koalaliving.com.au/Riviera-Sofa-Accessory-Side-Table). Unfortunately, I botched the measurements, and there's a bit of a gap above the sofa arm as you can see in the photos! While Koala has told me that it would accept a return of the product, my preference would be to keep the table as I otherwise like the look of that. However, for it to be feasible as a side table, I would need the height reduced by 60mm. I am not precious about how this occurs (eg if there would be a disturbance in the grain. Could you please let me know, based on the product specifications and my intended requirements, whether this would be feasible, and if so, your quote for performing the modification?

Looking for quotes at this stage, which is why the budget is at $5. A friend has moved into an early 90s build brick apartment in Ascot Vale. To make room for the large fridge and a new dishwasher, part of the kitchen has been demolished. She is looking to fill the height with a combination of straightforward open shelving and cabinet shells to match the rest of the 90s style kitchen (plain chipboard).
