Looking for a carpenter or skilled handyman to build a false chimney breast / stud wall cavity for a new internal gas fireplace (Illusion 4000 model). Important: This is a carpentry-only job. You do NOT have to connect the gas, install the fireplace unit, or do any flue/plumbing work. I just need the structural framing and front lining completed so my plumber can come in and do the connection. Scope of Work: Frame: Build a simple timber or steel stud frame/cavity against an internal wall according to the manufacturer's clearance specifications. Fascia/Lining: Sheet the front face surrounding the fireplace opening. I have James Hardie Axon cladding sheets ready to go for the lining. Prep: Leave access paths clear inside the framing so the plumber can easily run the side-wall flue and gas connections afterward. The unit dimensions are 1155mm (W) x 600mm (H) x 480mm (D). I have attached photos of the fireplace unit and the installation location. Please provide your quotes for labor and basic framing materials. Looking to get this sorted as soon as possible.

The Issue: A concealed hinge has been completely ripped out of the cupboard door behind our counter, leaving a damaged hole where the hinge cup was seated. The door is now hanging on by only one hinge, which is under strain and at risk of failing completely. The Job: The task is to repair the door and securely re-attach the hinge. The scope of work includes: 1. Assessing the damage to the door where the hinge cup has been pulled out. 2. Performing a durable repair to the door. This will likely involve filling the oversized hole with wood filler/epoxy, allowing it to set, and then re-drilling the hinge cup hole. 3. I’m renovating my weatherboard house. I’m moving the front door, adding a fixed window to the kitchen (1200x600) and changing an existing window to a sliding glass door. The plan denotes a stacker door, but I’m having a standard sliding instead. I need a quote to have the 3 cut out, framed and installed, with the existing front door filled in and the external boards put on. I’ve marked in red the door that needs to be filled and in yellow where the new and window and doors will be.
