I have an older Blanco gas cooktop. The electronic ignition is clicking by itself even when all the knobs are off. I have an AEG favorit dishwasher that is not cleaning my dishes properly. It began with the cutlery not cleaning (top tray), and now fails to clean the dishes in the other compartments.

Unfortunately water has got into the motor and now it short circuits/overheats and will not work. Smeg do not offer the motor as a spare part and their preferred repairers will not repair motors. A bit of a hail mary; however, it was a gift from someone important.

Hi Airtaskers! Unfortunately the dishwasher is not functioning properly. During operation, the dishwasher produces normal motor sounds; however, at the end of each cycle, the dishes remain unclean and a small amount of water is left at the bottom of the unit. Additionally, water was observed on the floor on one occasion. The dishwasher is a Westinghouse and probably close to 10 years old. Seeking a handy man to inspect and repair any obvious issues.
