Install a Be Modern Perlita 48” micro-marble fireplace surround with a Focal Point Blenheim electric inset fire in the living room. The fireplace is heavy (approx. 137 kg total) and comes in separate marble components. It will be delivered on a pallet to the driveway and needs to be carefully moved into the ground-floor living room (no stairs) and professionally assembled. I think the wall is plasterboard/hollow construction, so the installer must assess the wall and use appropriate secure structural fixings for the supplied fireplace brackets. Please do not rely on adhesive alone. Be Modern requires the permanent brackets to be mechanically secured using fixings appropriate to the wall construction. The job includes: * Moving the marble components from the driveway into the living room * Unpacking and checking the marble for damage before installation * Levelling and installing the hearth * Assembling the micro-marble surround and back panel * Securely fixing the supplied brackets to the wall using suitable fixings * Installing the mantel and under-mantel lights * Installing the Focal Point Blenheim electric inset fire * Neatly finishing the installation There is already an electrical socket close to the fireplace location. Please only offer if you have experience installing heavy stone/micro-marble fireplaces or similar stone installations and are confident working with plasterboard/stud walls. The manufacturer recommends two-person handling for the heavy marble components. Work to be done in September.

Gas fireplace not starting. Ignition is ok but doesn’t seem as though gas is coming through

Existing fireplace doesn't create the necessary updraft to enable a real fire without filling the room with smoke.

We are refurbishing our living room. We need someone who can do three jobs, combined it shouldn’t be more than a days work; 1) wall paper has been stripped but some glue remains - walls needs to be ready for plastering. There are only 2 walls (shown in pics) 2) coving needs to be removed (across 4 walls) 3) brick fire place surround needs to be removed We would like someone who will seal the room so dust is contained and do a good job clearing up after themself. We have a skip so all rubbish can go in there.
