The existing hob is a flush-mounted Miele KM 5775, approx. 915 x 415mm overall. It is damaged - large crack down centre. Amazingly still working but a bit of a hazard, especially with my young son. The replacement I’m looking at is the NEFF N90 T69FUV4L0, which is 918 x 522mm overall. So it’s slightly wider but considerably deeper, and the quartz opening will need enlarging to accommodate it. But I'm not precious about that model particularly. What I’m hoping you can assess is whether the existing quartz can safely be cut/enlarged for this hob, and what would be involved in removing the old flush-mounted hob and fitting the new one. Unplug the dishwasher, disconnect the water supply and disconnect the drain hose before removing the fixing screws and lowering the levelling feet to allow the dishwasher to slide out of the aperture between the fridge and the sink unit. The following day the new dishwasher will arrive, but I don’t know what time. I will need it fitting. So there’s more work.

I have two specific tasks. 1) Is to extend the flow and return pipework by about 6 feet and is to be left terminated under the floorboards so they can be accessible in the room where the radiator will be installed. The floorboards are currently exposed so access is ready. Materials are available and can be provided if required. 2) Install a gas hob. cut out is already made in the worktop, gas supply is available already, but would need to be extended so it can be connected to the hob.
