Enlarge existing quartz hob cut-out – Kings Heath I need an experienced quartz/stone fitter to enlarge an existing hob cut-out in my kitchen worktop for a replacement induction hob. Current hob: Miele KM 5775 – approx. 915 x 415mm overall, flush-mounted. Proposed replacement: NEFF N90 T69FUV4L0 – 918 x 522mm overall. The existing quartz opening therefore needs to be enlarged to the NEFF manufacturer’s required cut-out dimensions. The old hob will also need releasing/removing from the quartz. I’m specifically looking for someone experienced in cutting existing quartz worktops in situ, with the appropriate equipment and dust extraction. Electrical connection can be handled separately. Budget: £150–£200. I’m in Kings Heath, Birmingham. Please let me know if you’ve done similar hob/worktop alterations before – photos of previous work would be great.

The existing hob is a flush-mounted Miele KM 5775, approx. 915 x 415mm overall. It is damaged - large crack down centre. Amazingly still working but a bit of a hazard, especially with my young son. The replacement I’m looking at is the NEFF N90 T69FUV4L0, which is 918 x 522mm overall. So it’s slightly wider but considerably deeper, and the quartz opening will need enlarging to accommodate it. But I'm not precious about that model particularly. What I’m hoping you can assess is whether the existing quartz can safely be cut/enlarged for this hob, and what would be involved in removing the old flush-mounted hob and fitting the new one. My gas hob was working properly without lighter. I can ignite it but now it is not igniting without lighter it is Hotpoint

We have the hob and oven, and oven cabinet. We need the cabinet putting in the space of the freestanding cooker and worktop on top with hob fitted in top.

Planning on property purchase but this does not have a hob. Finding a place to the hob in the kitchen as the kitchen does not have this at the moment.

Rangemaster gas hob: 1)Burner (hob) 1 will not fully turn off—flame often stays on and I can smell gas even when the knob is in the OFF position. The knob for hob 1 feels loose but I’m not sure that’s the cause. 2)Burner 2 won’t light properly; if it lights, the flame goes out as soon as I release the knob. 3)The built-in electric ignition seems not to work, so I’ve been using a lighter.

I have a granite countertop with at fitted five ring gas hob of which only two rings work. An attempted repair by NCA was unsuccessful, resulting in me needing a new hob which they cannot do due to the countertop being granite. I am struggling find a hob fitter to get the hob replaced. The rings have been cleaned and middle and top right one has had an attempted repair but no success.
