Reconnect broken Ethernet connection

£200

Belgravia, Greater London

17th Mar 2026

An Ethernet cable connecting our server scale and client scale (shop weighing scales connected to the internet for price updates and advertising) has been pulled out and damaged. As a result, the two scales can no longer communicate, although the general internet connection on site is working. The cable runs along the floor and appears to have been torn loose over time by equipment moving over it. The job involves repairing/reconnecting the Cat6 cable and possibly recovering a little more slack from underneath a meat display case. Some light handyman work may be required. No work at height or drilling needed — floor-level job only. Looking for someone confident with Ethernet cable repairs. I can provide the parts and a wire crimper if required as well as more information.

Exterior ethernet cable run from second floor to ground floor house

£70

King's Cross, Greater London, N1

17th Mar 2026

Job Title: Exterior Ethernet Cable Run (2nd Floor my room to Ground floor living room) Description: I need a 30m Cat 8 Ethernet cable installed from a 2nd-floor bedroom to the ground-floor living room via the exterior brickwork. The Task: (it’s not too difficult as it’s matter of threading an Ethernet cable) • Drilling: One hole (approx 16mm im not sure) through the 2nd-floor brick wall (inside-to-out) to pass a pre-terminated Ethernet head. • Routing: Run the cable down the exterior wall. It needs to be pinned neatly along mortar lines/corners using masonry clips (no dangling wires). • Ground Floor Entry: Feed the cable into the living room (ideally reusing the existing fiber entry point or drilling a small matching hole is better I assume). • Weatherproofing: Apply white silicone sealant to both holes and ensure a small "drip loop" if possible, is shaped at the entry points to prevent rain or such. Not sure. Need your opinion. Requirements: • Height: You will need an extension ladder to line up. • Tools: Must have a hammer drill and long masonry bits. I have the cable and the Titan drill if needed, but prefer you use your own pro bits or machine. Some cable clips for the brick wall would be needed. I have a 30m cable on the way. Should be sufficient. My roof has a slope so cable needs to be dangled down. I’ll help assist or such. Beneath my top window. There’s just brick so you can drill through

Home Assistant Proof of Concept — Local Specialist Wanted

£500

Kingston Hill, Greater London, KT2

14th Mar 2026

I'm building an open-source, privacy-first home server framework — a life management layer (shopping, health, garden, finance) that sits above device control. Everything runs locally, no cloud. I want to connect it to Home Assistant via the REST and WebSocket APIs. HA handles the physical world (lights, sensors, voice), my system handles the thinking. Both local, both talk over the LAN. This is a 2-day proof of concept at my house in Kingston: - Set up HA OS on an Intel N100 mini PC (I'll source hardware) - Get a few Zigbee devices working — couple of bulbs, a sensor or two - Configure local voice: Whisper STT + Piper TTS, one Voice PE satellite - Enable the HA REST/WebSocket API with a long-lived token - Test bidirectional API calls between HA and a Flask app on the LAN - Document what we built What I'm really looking for: more than a one-off job. I want someone local who knows HA deeply and is interested in the bigger picture — where Home Assistant ends and sovereign personal AI begins. The project is open source (EUPL), local-first, and the ambition goes well beyond smart lighting. I'm a software engineer, so no need to explain APIs. But I haven't worked with HA hands-on and I'd rather learn from someone who has. Ideal person: runs HA at home, has opinions about where it's going, finds extending it into life management genuinely interesting. £500 for 2 days. Flexible scheduling — away w/c 16 March but can correspond. Kingston upon Thames, KT2.

I need help setting up my private AI on my computer

£75

Kilburn, Greater London, NW6

5th Feb 2026

I’m looking for someone tech-savvy to help me set up a local AI model (such as LLaMA, Mistral, or Vicuna) on my Windows 11 Acer laptop. This AI will be used as a personal assistant/companion and should be able to accept custom prompts and chat history. Tasks include: Installing necessary software (Python, Llama.cpp, etc.) Downloading and installing the model (e.g., Mistral or Vicuna) Importing existing files (text logs, preferences, prompt history) Ensuring it works offline Backing it up (USB or cloud) Teaching me how to launch and use it This is time-sensitive. Need it done by Feb 8th, 2026

Noman was very thorough and patient with me as I am not computer literate. He helped me set up an AI assistant and was very knowledgeable, kind and thorough. I will hire him again with pleasure.
