That means the air you feel at the vents is coming from ducts connected to a separate fan-coil unit that’s usually in the ceiling space (roof) or under the house, not a wall-mounted head in the room. So yes, installation is done at the indoor unit itself, which typically means getting access in the roof/underfloor. Have attached some pictures for guidance. You'll need a Faikin and Type C cable combo for your unit. The FDYA series are common here in Oz, and I've send dozens of unit out without issue. Where you’ll be installing it (ducted setup) You’re looking for a big metal box roughly the size of a large suitcase, with ductwork coming off it. Commonly you’ll see: the indoor unit (FDYA160AV1) in roof space/underfloor a zone controller somewhere accessible (often near the return air grille, in a cupboard, or mounted near the unit) multiple ducts feeding different rooms Faikin connects to the indoor unit control circuit board, not the wall controller or the vents. Basic install Isolate power to the system at the breaker (important). Access the indoor unit in the roof/underfloor. Open the electrical/control cover. Plug Faikin into the correct connector on the control board. The Type C cable has three ends, one goes to the Faikin, and two to the A/C circuit board (sockets are labelled X35A and X50A). Mount the module so the antenna isn’t pressed against metal. Restore power, join it to Wi-Fi, then integrate with Home Assistant (MQTT or the standard Daikin integration).

Require a roofer to do a maintenance check of tiles and replace any that are broken for a small 2 bedroom town house. These were done about 2 years ago. A clearing of the gutters and leaves would also be ideal (these were done 6 months ago). I will also require work to the small front pergola with possible flashing, and a quote to fix the fall/piping from the carport roof.
