I hired someone who has got below comment the contractor did manage to "Jerry rig a repair", but the mixer itself is now scratched and difficult to operate he said that it's likely that the mixer behind the actual wall is going to need to be replaced. In the invoice he has provided to you, the tradesman mentioned in the description that the existing tap internals is for a different size mixer tap and the tile needs to be removed to match the common 40mm tap internals.

Looking to replace a kitchen sink with a more modern one, and probably tap too. Also potentially looking at replacement taps and showers in bathroom, but not sure on this one.
