need a professional ceiling fixer / plasterer to repair a cracked and sagging ceiling joint in my house located in Dianella. This specific spot has been poorly repaired multiple times before by previous owners/handymen. They simply slapped on a massive, thick layer of joint compound without fixing the root cause, which looks terrible and keeps cracking due to the thickness and weight. What needs to be done: 1 Scrape & Clean: Completely scrape off all the old, thick, layered joint compound down to the original plasterboard/Gyprock paper layer. I cannot accept another thick coat of plaster. 2 Re-screw & Level: Check the roof cavity / timber joists if needed, and re-screw the sagging plasterboard sheet tightly back into the ceiling timber joists to pull it flush and level with the other side. 3 Tape & Flush: Apply proper joint tape (paper tape preferred for strength) with a very thin base coat, followed by a feathered top coat. The final finish must be completely flat, smooth, and flush without any noticeable thickness or hump. 4 Sanding: Sand it smooth, ready for painting (I can handle the painting myself). Notes: Please bring your own tools, Gyprock screws, joint compound, tape, and a step ladder. Looking for someone with actual ceiling fixing experience who understands how to level sheets mechanically rather than just bulk-filling with plaster.
