When the above ceiling unit of our ducted air conditioner was replaced, they had to remove the gyprock ceiling (made a square hole 1.5-1.6m x 1m approximately ) and removed the downlight also (we still have those lights and all the wiring). The ceiling hole where it needs to go is too large for the included ceiling mount kit, so we may need a small timber or backing plate installed first to securely hang it from.
