I’m having trouble rebooting my old Mac PC. When I reboot it, it comes up with a folder with a question mark. I tried to reboot it holding Command + R and it shows up with a password lock. I received the password for it and tried to enter the password but it doesn’t seem to register that I want to unlock it. After an update unfortunately my two email accounts are no longer connected to the emails on my desktop, I can only access them through the browser which is very unpractical. Tried resetting the accounts multiple times unsuccessfully and need some help :)

I wanted to erase my content and setting to sell my iMac but I needed to do manually (through command+R and erase Macintosh HD). Now I want to reinstall my MacOS but it's stuck connected to wifi but nothing else is happening.
