My bath/shower’s hot water has become unreliable, although the hot water supply itself is working well. I think the problem may be limescale affecting the thermostatic mixer cartridge, so I would like it to be removed, inspected and cleaned. I started trying to do this myself but realised I don’t have the experience or tools for the job, so I’m looking for someone to help. The mixer is an Ideal Standard A4054AA Active bath shower mixer, and the thermostatic cartridge is S960134NU, in case that’s helpful. This is a slightly fiddly job that will require experience with thermostatic mixers and a toolkit. I particularly struggled to remove the plastic pin holding the cartridge/unit together, so I’d like someone who is comfortable dismantling and reassembling this type of mixer.

The thermostatic valve on a shower needs cleaning or possibly replacing. It was installed to make servicing impossible. The valve 52mm nut cannot be accessed. The water supply to the shower is off. So, the shower unit needs to be unscrewed from inlet hot and cold supplies and outlets in order to access the valve. This is visit one. Then I will sort out the thermostatic valve. Once that is done - visit two, maybe a week or so later, will be reassembly and checking everything works with no leaks! The suggested price is one visit

I need a hole filled with fire retardant around the flue pipe from my boiler. I also need a wire grounded. The photo attached shows the green and yellow cable that needed to be earthed. You can see the corner of the pipe which comes form the boiler and leads outside the house.

Needs service it's a logic boiler I don't know but it comes on and no heating around the house not even in the pipe

You must be a plumber or a heating engineer. Boiler diagnosis completed as follows below and need someone to replace both parts. Parts to be ordered separately and not included in price here. - system pressure was low. I topped up the pressure and reset the boiler; however, the boiler still failed to fire. The appliance was displaying the fault code shown in the photographs provided. I referred to the manufacturer's instructions, which identify this fault as relating to the gas valve. I then contacted the manufacturer directly to confirm, and they advised that the fault is associated with the gas valve and ignition electrodes, with replacement of these components being the recommended course of action. The active fault codes displayed on the front of the boiler provide a clear indication of the fault condition being detected by the appliance, and the manufacturer has confirmed that these codes relate to the gas valve and ignition electrodes.

There’s a gap beneath my boiler that needs to be covered as it’s a possible entry point for mice. The pest control company has asked for a Perspex sheet to built and siliconed in place around the boilers paperwork. Would need to be custom fitted and make w a jigsaw. Thanks

Hi, I’m looking for a professional decorator or handyman to repair and repaint water-damaged walls in the common stairwell area of my apartment in NW3 London. There was previously a leak from my boiler (faulty ball valve), but this has now been fixed and the area is drying out properly. The walls currently have: • Brown water staining • Flaking / bubbling paint • Some minor plaster damage • Light mould in one lower corner I want the job done properly so the staining doesn’t come back through. The job likely requires: • Scraping back all loose paint • Treating any mould • Sealing with stain-blocking primer (e.g. Zinsser) • Filling / patch plaster repair where needed • Sanding smooth • Repainting (white/neutral to match existing) This is in a stairwell so access may require care (not very high ceilings but awkward angles).
