We’re looking for someone experienced in renovating older exterior timber, not simply repainting over existing surfaces. Work required: • Remove all ivy/vegetation from around doors, windows, frames and roofline. • Scrape off all loose, peeling and failed paint back to a firm edge. • Sand/feather existing paint thoroughly. • Fill minor cracks, holes and surface defects. • Check timber condition as work progresses. • Prime all bare/exposed timber with suitable exterior wood primer. • Apply undercoat where required. • Apply TWO full finish coats of good-quality exterior paint. • Paint windows, double doors, door frames, fascia and soffit externally. • Also prepare/repaint inside faces of windows, doors and door frames. • Colour likely black; final paint system to be agreed. • Protect glass, brickwork, paving and surrounding areas. Preparation and durability are more important than speed. We do not want loose/flaking paint lightly sanded and painted over. If rotten timber, failed putty, loose glazing beads or other significant defects are found, please photograph and agree any additional work/cost before proceeding. All ivy, paint scrapings and job waste must go into the skip provided on site. Please keep the work area tidy throughout, leave paths/access clear, safely store tools/materials, and clean up paint splashes/debris promptly. Area to be left clean and tidy on completion. Please arrive at agreed times or advise if delayed. Normal hours approx. 8:30/9am–5pm unless agreed otherwise. Ideally complete over consecutive working days.
