She was really nice, efficient, and professional. She was also friendly and talkative, which made the experience comfortable. The job was done very well, and I’m really happy with the results. If you’d like it shorter, more formal, or more enthusiastic, tell me the vibe and I’ll adjust it

Alison was methodically going through the space to be decluttered from the entrance inwards. Every step she encouraged to find a meaningful space for the thing: "If it had a home, where would you look for it?" We organised & labelled boxes together. As we worked together the time went & had to realise the expectation of what could be achieved was unrealistic & both the time and pay was expanded to reach a sustainable level.

Top Housekeepers related questions

A housekeeper can be responsible for a range of household tasks, from cleaning and organising, to laundry and cooking.

A housekeeper should be competent in completing basic household chores to a high standard. They should have meticulous attention to detail and be able to follow instructions.

Yes. Some household tasks may require trade specialists - this is generally beyond the skills of a housekeeper. Most housekeepers also focus on areas inside the home - not outside/garden maintenance.

Some people have a daily cleaner, others get help in once a week, once a month, or just on special occasions to help them get caught up.

Housekeeping agencies are popular, but they don’t offer as much flexibility and control. Hiring a housekeeper directly means you can choose your preferred housekeeper, based on ratings, reviews, and skillsets.

The cost of housekeeping depends mainly on how many hours you’d like your housekeeper to work. On Airtasker, people typically spend £41 - £100 on housekeeping services.

What does a housekeeping service include?

Housekeeping services can include one-off services or regular domestic tasks (daily, weekly, or fortnightly), from cleaning and cooking to even home maintenance. Your housekeeper will bring along all the products and equipment they need to clean and maintain your home - all you need to do is tell them what you need done. Here’s how they can help:

Cleaning

The most common housekeeping service involves cleaning. This could include general cleaning, like vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and bathroom cleaning. Or it might include detail cleaning tasks like couch, curtain, floor, fridge, and . Depending on the number of tasks you’d like your housekeeper to complete, they may clean for just an hour, or up to the entire day. Your housekeeper will discuss a time that’s convenient for you, the tasks you need done, and the timeframe it should take to complete these tasks. If needed, they can bring their own cleaning supplies, like a vacuum cleaner and feather duster.

Organising and tidying

Many housekeepers offer professional organising services, where they help organise and tidy all areas of your home. This includes desks, filing cabinets, stationery, linen, wardrobes, toys, kitchen cupboards, garage interiors, and more. They’ll pull out all the items, organise them by category, and help you choose what you should keep, donate, or bin. They’ll also help by recommending suitable storage solutions to help you keep your home tidy for longer.

Cooking

Some housekeepers are available to help with cooking in your home. They might prepare a few snacks, or help prep several meals ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about cooking. Your housekeeper will present menu and recipe options for you to choose from and use your ingredient and kitchen supplies to cook everything in your kitchen. Once they’re done, they’ll store the freshly cooked food (with heating instructions) and clean up any mess.

Laundry

Washing and ironing starting to pile up? Housekeepers can help by putting on loads of washing, hanging clothes, loading the dryer, folding washing, ironing, and even putting it away. They’ll check the care labels to ensure appropriate washing/drying methods are used before they start the process. With some extra help, you’ll be all caught up on the laundry in no time.

Home maintenance

Many housekeepers are skilled in basic household maintenance tasks. But if they’re unable to do the job themselves, they’ll help organise and oversee skilled contractors who can help do repairs and maintenance in and around your home.

Luija did an amazing job cleaning my house. The kitchen was spotless, every surface was shining, and she clearly has a great eye for detail. She takes her time and doesn’t rush, which really shows in the results. The shower looked like new after she finished, and she even brought some of her own cleaning products. I’m very happy and would definitely recommend her.

Reliable house cleaner needed today

£45

Highgate, Greater London

15th Mar 2026

I run a small bakery business from home with my partner, so sometimes after markets or baking events we need a quick reset of the house and kitchen. We’re looking for someone reliable to come this evening at 6:30pm to help with: • Washing dishes and kitchen items from baking • Wiping down kitchen surfaces • Helping tidy and reorganise cupboards or work areas • General light cleaning and tidying • Working alongside my partner to help reorganise everything ready for next week This is mainly a reset clean to help us get organised again after a busy baking period. The job should take around 1–2 hours. Our budget is £45 as we are a small independent business and unfortunately can’t pay much at the moment. However, if it works well this could become regular work when we have busy baking weeks. Ideally we’re looking for someone local who can arrive around 6:30pm today. Thank you. Ps: there’s more dishes and things to do from the photos it’s just an example of things that need to be washed and organised Type of clean: Regular Number of bedrooms: 2 Number of bathrooms: 1 Equipment and supplies: Tasker must provide

Great work from the lady who came to help me! She was thorough and very helpful - will definitely be booking her again!
