We have rats getting through small gaps underneath our Colorbond boundary fence and would like the bottom of the fence properly sealed/rodent-proofed. We already have a roll of corrugated metal edging (approx. 5–7 metres – see photos) that could be used and screwed/secured along the bottom of the existing fence. Job would involve: * Clear grass/soil away from the bottom of the fence as required * Cut and fit the metal edging along the problem section * Secure it neatly to the existing fence with suitable Tek screws/fasteners * Make sure there are no gaps large enough for rats to get underneath * Backfill and compact underneath/against the barrier where required * Ideally use compacted soil/gravel rather than loose sand if that will provide a better long-term result * Leave the area tidy when finished Happy for someone experienced to recommend a better method if there is a more effective way to permanently rodent-proof the bottom of the fence.
