Hi, I’m looking for a handyman/carpenter to replace my existing carport door with a Merbau timber fence-style door/gate. Door size (approx): Height: 1760 mm Width: 820 mm This will likely need to be custom made to suit the opening. Tradie to measure and confirm on site. SCOPE OF WORK Remove and dispose of the existing door Supply and install a Merbau timber door (fence/gate style) Check and replace/repair the frame if required (frame may need to be replaced to suit the new door and lock) Supply and install a push button digital gate/entrance lock (mechanical keypad lock), including: Fitting to the door Latch/strike alignment Adjustments so it closes and locks properly NOTED: Please confirm if you can supply the Merbau and hardware, or if you prefer I purchase materials (happy either way). Please include in your offer what’s included (materials vs labour only). Please advise lead time if the door needs to be made. The gate needs to match the existing horizontal slat fence (see photos). I’ll be reusing the current slats, so the job involves building a new timber frame and attaching the slats to it. What’s required: * Build a sturdy timber gate frame (materials provided) * Install diagonal bracing to prevent sagging * Reattach existing horizontal timber slats to match fence spacing * Install and align hinges onto existing metal posts * Install gate latch/handle * Ensure gate opens/closes smoothly and is properly aligned Materials provided: * Timber for frame * Screws * Hinges * Gate latch You will need to bring: * Tools (drill, level, saw, etc.) * Any additional fixings required for mounting to metal posts Notes: * Gate width approx: 900mm * Height approx: 1600mm * Posts are metal, so experience fixing into metal is important * Want a clean, professional finish so it blends with the existing fence Attached is a mock up of the design we are looking for

Our front door and gate get jammed as you open and close them, because the base of the door and gate are scraping on the floor. Needs the front door and gate to be shaved slightly at the bottom. Both are wooden.

My front pedestrian swing gate is not closing properly. It scrapes with the frame from about halfway to the top. It is very heavy and I don’t know if the hinges or frame can be adjusted. It is an inner metal frame with horizontal wood slats on both sides.

As you can see from the attached images, rust has damaged part of my steel gate, in particular the area near the handle. I'd like this to be repaired. I'd imagine the simplest (and most cost-effective) solution would be to simply weld a piece of steel over the damaged area. But open to other suggestions.

I need a gate repaired by resetting the left post in concrete. At the moment the gate cannot close properly because the post is loose.

Remove 6 flat-head screws that retain 2 hinges on a wrought iron gate and replace with new screws.
