Looking for an experienced timber floor repair specialist to fix burn marks on wooden floorboards caused by hot coal/embers. Damage is mostly superficial and does not appear deep. There are 2 affected areas: * One area has several small sprinkle-like burn marks scattered across the floor (similar to water splash marks) * Another area has a cluster of slightly larger burn spots around 1–2 cm in size Photos attached for reference. The situation: We had flooding a while back (burst pipe while on holiday) and the carpet was ruined. I'm in the process of finding some off-cut carpet on Marketplace to replace the old carpet which we had to dispose of. Some details: - The floor is a concrete slab - The dimensions are roughly 3 x 4m - The carpet needs to be cut so as to fit the dimensions of the closet (all in once piece ideally) - I'd be keen to learn how to do lay the carpet and help out (but I'm a bit of a slouch when it comes to practical tasks), so a warm, teacherly manner would be great!! - I might need to find some underlay as well, and have been told that old wool rugs are an option. I'd love any insider advice on what I should get as underlay. Happy to pay around $40ph and it should only take 4 - 5 hours to finish up.

The skirting boards in 3 bedrooms are rotting and need replacing. I can buy and paint the boards beforehand but I need some help in cutting the boards to the exact right lengths - including catering for power points - and installing them. I may need to plaster over holes in the wall too. I would want to chat before I buy and paint the new boards.
