Duct Path Run duct vertically up from the hood outlet, then directly to the external side wall. Minimise turns — one 45° or 90° bend max if needed. Keep total duct run as short and straight as possible. 4. Wall Penetration Core-drill or cut a 160–170 mm hole through brick/wall. Angle duct slightly downward toward outside to prevent condensation running back. 5. External Vent Installation Select a 150 mm external vent (e.g., stainless or weatherproof hood). Mount vent clear of other pipes or fixtures and at least: 600 mm from doors/windows 300 mm below eaves Seal all around the vent with exterior silicone to weatherproof. 6. Backdraft & Mesh Ensure the external vent has backdraft protection (gravity flap or mesh). Check mesh covers openings to stop insects/rodents. 7. Sealing & Insulation Use HVAC aluminium tape on all duct joints. No ducting should vent into ceiling cavities. 8. Power & Safety Confirm the rangehood is powered with a dedicated, weatherproof outlet or hard-wired by a licensed electrician. Test airflow after installation — smoke/test paper should move out of vent cleanly.

I have an existing wall gas outlet (bayonet fitting) behind a TV unit / IKEA BESTÅ cabinet. I need a licensed gas fitter to safely cap the gas line inside the wall, remove the existing gas bayonet fitting, and install a flush blanking plate so the furniture can sit close to the wall. No new gas installation required.Please confirm licence details.

I am getting a quote for my parents who are in Aged Care in Gwelup. Mum has an electric lift chair that apparently has a damaged wire into/out of the controller. My sister taped it up and it worked for a while but has now stopped. It shouldn’t be too tricky but Dad has no tools or electrical knowledge.
