Install bedroom door lock while retaining existing handle Looking for an experienced carpenter o install a lock on an internal bedroom door x 2 The door currently has a standard tubular latch with separate lever-on-rose handles. I want to retain the existing handles. I will provide: * 2.5” and 3” Euro-profile sashlocks (use whichever matches the existing handle/backset) * Euro cylinder with key outside and thumbturn inside * Chrome Euro escutcheons Work required: * Remove existing tubular latch * Check which sashlock lines up with the existing handle position before cutting * Mortice/enlarge the door edge to fit the sashlock * Create the opening for the Euro cylinder * Refit the existing handles * Modify the door-frame recess and fit the new strike plate * Ensure the handle, key and thumbturn all operate smoothly Please only respond if you are comfortable cutting/morticing internal doors and fitting new sashlocks, rather than just replacing existing locks.
