Given that climbing frames are made out of timber, a natural material, some cracking is expected when the material starts to dry out. This could be solved by making sure that the timber is treated using a clear water repellent. However, cracks in the climbing frame may also be signs of wear and tear, particularly if the usage of the installation exceeds limits.

Most climbing frame installers use pressure to treat the timber material. This means that there’s usually no need to treat the material further for maintenance. However, given that timber is a natural material, some fading is to be expected over time.
