We have a bad smell coming from our disused chimney stack. The chimney has vents (approx 6" by 6") in each room that it goes through and these can be removed in living room and 2nd floor bedroom. We suspect that the smell is caused by a dead animal that has got in so we think ideally we need someone who can see into (with cameras?) and be able to clear out through the chimney. - Due date: Before Friday, 20 January 2023

Hi there, We would like to extend the depth of our chimney breast so that we can fit alcove shelving. Currently it is 12cm deep, 155cm wide and 2.7m high and we would like it to be around 30cm deep. The work probably requires the construction of a stud wall around the breast, but we would also like it to be plastered so it's ready to be decorated. I've attached a photo below. The heating pipes will be re-routed underneath the floorboards in advance of the job with the bookshelves removed. This is a job that requires a bit of expertise. The attached pics are of two fireplaces (not working) that have some old textile and plastic wedged in to stop stuff coming down (one is much clearer than the other). I need someone who is reasonably skilled in chimney work to wedge something in place which will hold securely. A day’s work, other small handyman jobs may be considered.

I would like a false chimney breast (MDF only, no plaster board) constructed to mount a TV and with a couple of shelves either side. See picture 2-4 below for something similar to what I’m after (with the cutout hole underneath and side shelving).
