Coffee machine motor runs, but grinder does not grind beans.

My Hotpoint integrated washing machine is faulty. It won't drain out the water. When I would select drain, I would hear a faint hum for about 10 seconds maybe before it cut out and the light started flashing red. So I assumed it was a pump issue. I replaced the drain pump myself with a new one but the machine is still not draining out the water. When I select the drain option, I'm met with silence for about 1 minute, followed by a brief hum for about 1 second before it cuts out and the machine starts flashing red. I believe perhaps the issue now is the new connections I put in when I replaced the pump. I used 6.3mm blue fully-insulated female spade connectors were crimped onto the two red wires and attached to the pump. My machine is a Indesit IWDE126
