Got computer problems? Tried turning it off and on again but it still won’t work? You need to find a computer repair service near you. An experienced and professional computer technician will help you with troubleshooting, computer repairs, parts replacement, and even training so you can confidently handle the tech yourself. That way, your computer will be up and running again in no time so you can get back to work (or watching cat videos online).
The best place to find affordable computer repair prices and a computer repairman (or woman) near you is on Airtasker. No matter how small or serious your computer problem, you’ll find a techy who can help.
Computers are complicated devices, so there’s quite a lot that can go wrong with them. The exact process and what you can expect from your computer repair technician will depend on your problem and the fixes they recommend. Here are some common types of computer repair services and inclusions:
When you don’t have the time, knowledge, or patience to work out what’s wrong with your device, it makes sense to hire a computer repair service near you. Computer troubleshooting and technical support are usually the first step to fixing any problems you’re having. Your technician will ask a few questions over the phone or on your task to assess the complexity of your issue. Then they’ll visit your home or office or provide virtual support to confirm the issue and recommend a suitable solution.
A large number of computer problems are caused by outdated software. When your operating system updates, sometimes it can cause compatibility issues if your other programs don’t update at the same time. Fortunately, this is often an easy fix for an experienced computer technician. They’ll run a check to make sure your software and drivers are up to date, then they’ll download and install any software, computer upgrades, or even a new Windows installation if needed. With up-to-date programs and operating systems, everything should be compatible, run smoothly, and minimise your vulnerability to security threats.
Eventually, most computers end up with some kind of hardware failure, whether it’s the graphics driver, a dead battery, or even just a few keys coming loose on your laptop. Arrange computer repair near you to make it easy to drop your computer in, or get a mobile repair technician to your home. A computer hardware specialist will diagnose issues like why your computer isn’t turning on, video display issues, and battery problems. They may run software tests or open up your laptop or computer case to take a look inside. They might also swap spare hardware parts with your existing parts to confirm which parts are causing your problem. Most technicians will be able to diagnose your problem within a few minutes, but it may take a few days or weeks to repair, depending on the complexity or your hardware repair, and whether or not the parts are available locally.
As part of your repair services, your technician may set up antivirus and repair software, especially if they need to restore your files or get rid of malware on your computer. They’ll help backup computer files with cloud software like Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive, or use an external hard drive. And they’ll likely run virus removal software to check for threats and protect your computer against future viruses. Be prepared to purchase extra software or hardware to sort out your antivirus protection and backups. These are important to minimise the risk of future problems and protect your important files, photos, work, and personal details.

Hello I have various MAC / NAS DRIVE set up problems and have also had ongoing problems with icloud starting to back up (and me not able to stop it) when I didn't need it in the middle of me working leading to slow down my wifi making it impossible to work with zoom meetings at the same time. I also use time machine to back up the mac book pro but think it will only be backing up the files that are locally on mac and not in the cloud? So I bought a NAS drive as I was tired of icloud and wanted to set up a physical on-site back up system (but have not been able to se it up yet) My current mac book pro (Mojave 2014 that I need to upgrade to use new version of keynoteI Recently i bought a new IMAC 2017 (Catalina I think) to replace an old IMAC 2009 and would like to have a seamless set up with all I files I have 1.5 GB have on the macbook pro (too much for the mac book pro hence the need of using icloud) with all 1GB stored on the physical wireless backed up NAS drive and all synchronised between the macbook pro and imac through the sinology nas drive ... but may also need another back up of the NAS drive too to be safe? I have recently also started to use dropbox as I need to collaborate with creative people remotely on same keynote and powerpoint files etc and feel maybe it is the way forward. I have realise that dropbox sharing doesn't allow to work on keynote too . So I am thinking maybe for my the specific clients folders I am collaborating with other members on I need to use icloud? I understand it is maybe a little complex but was wondering how long time you would estimate it could (understand it is not exact estimate) take you / cost me to help setting all this up remotely? Or will you also be able to do on site visit form after next week end of lock down? (I have had first vaccine shot) and can also work with mask on too. Best Jens IMAC 4K 21-inch (catalina can be upgraded to big sur) Core i5 3.4GHz Pro 560 (Mid 2017) 16GB / 1TB SSD MAC BOOK PRO (Mojave can be upgraded) MacBook Pro 13″ Version: macOS 10.14.6 Serial number: C02QQ1K0FVH7 NAS SYNOLOGY drive with 4TB to set up as external local

Basically, one of my client's Sonos Play 5 appears not to connect to Wi-Fi anymore. It's about 4 years old. I've done the usual troubleshooting steps, by resetting routers, the player and changing settings in the app. But still no joy. The player is not available for wired connection. Any thoughts? Thanks very much. Alan Scott, TRFS.

Laptop, (DELL) Alienware 17 r2. At least 6 years old. The laptop will not power on and cuts all power to the adapter charging cable. The DC Power Jack and Battery have both been replaced and a local professional has inspected the laptop but couldn't fix the problem. The professional was almost certain the shortage is somewhere on the motherboard but couldn't identify where exactly. The Laptop brand new was about £1500, I am desperately looking to get it fixed or replaced but at an affordable price, I'm currently unemployed, on universal credit and in the process of moving house so I can only spare about 1to4 hundred pounds. Lastly, I need this done asap, I use my laptop for work purposes.
