Our area had a full mains water outage yesterday (South East Water). When the water supply returned, my washing machine started filling with water by itself, even though it was switched OFF. The drum fills up and then overflows onto the floor. I have turned off the water tap behind the machine to stop the flooding. I think the cold-water inlet valve has failed or is stuck open due to the pressure surge when the water came back. Need someone to inspect and replace the inlet valve. Ideally ASAP
