I've got water damage appearing on the ceiling of a study/sunroom and need someone to find the source and fix it. The paint and plaster have blistered and lifted along a line across the ceiling, which looks like water tracking from a leak above. There's also a recessed downlight close to the damaged area, so there's a potential water-near-electrical concern to be mindful of. What I'm after: Inspect the roof and ceiling cavity to identify where the water is getting in Repair the leak itself (flashing, tiles/sheeting, seals — whatever the cause turns out to be) Let me know if the ceiling/plaster repair and repaint is something you can also do, or if I'll need a separate plasterer/painter Flag any electrical safety issue with the nearby downlight if relevant Photos of the ceiling damage are attached. I have an older cottage and in the severe rain a few weeks ago I had water ingress. I believe this to be from around where the screws fit tin to batons - I need roof checked and screws resealed. I dont have actual pictures of the roof as I am unable to climb up but front the pictures of the internal leaks I am able to pin point the approximate areas of the problem.
