Looking for a site quote from a hardwood flooring installer, or skilled carpenter to provide and install a neat level transition between two existing timber floors. The two floor types meet in a straight line but are different timbers/colours (Baltic Pine & Tasmanian Oak). I would like a custom timber transition strip (or brass metal) made and installed to create a clean, intentional finish i.e. recessed. Scope of works: Inspect existing flooring junction. Supply suitable timber transition strip (matching or complementary timber such as Tasmanian Oak). Rebate the strip into the flooring join where required. Finish flush or as close to flush as practical with the existing floor surface. Sand, stain and finish to complement one or both floor finishes. Leave with a professional, tidy appearance. Alternatively a 10–20 mm wide brass flat bar recessed into the floor (example pictured - can purchase strip with suggestion).
