Sand back and then polish these floorboards . Wanting to lighten them as much as possible. May need a few coats of polish. Sanding must be done on a weekend and polishing must be done on the following weekend. You must have your own supplies and tools.

Two adjoining rooms have hardwood floors. We have taken up the carpet and tiles that were covering it and we now want to bring the floors up to the same as the rest of the house. We have old lino floors in our kitchen which we want to remove and get back to the wood floor underneath. There is a rubber underlay under the lino which is stuck down. We aren’t removing our kitchen cabinets etc, so it’s really only a 12-15m2 space that needs to be completed. The floor will need to be sanded and refinished. I’ve also included a picture of another room where we had the floor refinished. The wood in the kitchen is the same as this.

We are re-doing our kitchen and have removed the floor tiles. There is original timber flooring through most of the kitchen, with some protruding nails. There is a small area (2sqm) with no existing flooring, but there are structural beam supports. Total kitchen area is approx 2mx4m.
