I had engineered timber flooring (floating floors) put into my two-bedroom apartment about six years ago. In the summer it lays flat, but in winter when I'm running the heat it swells up and creates hill-like bumps in the floor in several places. I need to get some of the ends of the flooring trimmed so that it has enough space to expand in winter. Skirting boards will need to be taken up and put back down in the relevant areas.
