I need your help to solve login problem on my windows laptop. Here are the descriptions of what happened. I tried to change the setting from msconfic, since then I am unable to log in to laptop. It asks for password, I don't remember password. I used to login with pin, pin login is not available since msconfig setting was changed. Basically I am locked out.

I have an old computer that houses some critical programs and files on Windows 8 OS that I use regularly for work. I don't want to upgrade (also I can't upgrade specific obsolete programs either that aren't compatible with latest OS). As I see it, I need that OS/system exactly as it is. This is perfectly fine for when I am at home, but I am planning on an overseas trip when I need to work from time to time. I need an IT expert to help decide on the best course of action for this hard drive, and then action it. I have no idea what the best answer might be: * Accurately clone the hard drive and migrate to a new machine? * Take out the old drive and stick it inside a new machine? * Another way? Quote for your time, any hardware I will purchase on your recommendation. Even just taking out the entire motherboard and HDD and putting into a smaller box would be a winner for me if nothing else is possible. - Due date: Flexible
