Take the hot-water system off the off-peak circuit and put it on the normal house power. Then we add a timer so it only runs in the middle of the day. When it runs, it automatically uses solar first, then battery, then grid. That way almost all of our hot water comes from the sun.

Hot water heater runs out of hot water after approximately 2 days. To fix it, I have to switch off the water heater on the electrical switchboard and flush the tank. As you can imagine, it is exhausting to do this every 2nd day. Will need a plumber to come and diagnose issue and fix.
