I am looking for an experienced handyman or carpenter to help finish off the wall and framing around a recently installed door. There are a few specific tasks required to make the area look seamless and finished on the inside. Tasks include: 1. Adjusting Metal Casing: There is a metal track/casing housing a garage door weight that sticks out too far. This needs to be shaved down or pushed in so it doesn't protrude. 2. MDF Extension: Once the casing is adjusted, I need MDF installed to extend the wall to the new door frame. This MDF needs to run all the way from the top down to the floor. 3. Adding Insulation: There is an exposed cavity at the top of the door frame that is missing insulation. Insulation needs to be inserted into this top gap. 4. Gap Filling: All remaining gaps along the top and the side between the new door frame and the wall need to be filled in completely. 5. Skirting Board Touch-up: The baseboard/skirting on the adjacent wall near the floor is messy. This small section needs to be replaced or sanded and painted to look clean. 6. Painting: After all the construction is complete, the new MDF extension and all patched/filled areas need to be primed and painted to match the existing wall color and finish seamlessly. Notes: - There are some exposed cables/wires that need to be safely tucked into the cavity behind the new MDF. - Offer should include all materials, labour to complete the job. I’ve already installed over half the subfloor insulation in my home (134m2) and need someone to complete the job (approx 65m2). The product is a recycled polyester batt (soft, no itch, no PPE needed) that simply tucks up between the joists and staples into the timber, very straightforward once you’ve done a few. The work involves: • Cutting rolls to length (width is pre-sized, length cuts only) • Tucking batts snugly up under the floorboards • Stapling into timber joists to secure Important: There is fragile ducted heating pipework under the house. You’ll need to work carefully around this and not rush. This is the main requirement, someone methodical who won’t damage the ducting. Our house has suspended timber flooring with a subfloor. We need to install some polyester underfloor insulation. Our subfloor is quite accessible. The area that needs insulation is roughly 60-80 sqm.
