I am looking for an experienced handyman or carpenter to help finish off the wall around a recently installed door so it looks seamless. The job essentially comes down to two main parts: 1. Move the metal strip in: There is a protruding metal casing piece that just needs to be pushed in or shaved down so it sits flush. 2. Patch and finish the wall: Install a full-height MDF panel to close the gap between the existing wall and the new door frame. You'll just need to pop some insulation into the top cavity, fill the gaps, and tidy up the bottom skirting board so it's all enclosed. Once built out, the new section needs to be primed and painted to seamlessly match the existing wall.
