We thought we could shove all the furniture (that we cant put elsewhere cos it's too big) into one half of the room, lay half the floor then when it's done, move the furniture to the other side of the room and lay the second half. I have recently installed a new floating floor. There are two rooms either side of the new floor that have carpet in them. The carpet needs to be refinished up to the floating floor in the doorways using new smooth edge, there is no need for any metal trim as the floating floor has a trim already.
