There's a gap between the carpet and the skirting board in the hallway - on both sides (but not opposite each other). Gap is 11mm at its widest point. Carpet is laid on floorboards with tacks and is about 4 years old. One of the gaps has been there for ages, the other has only recently become noticeable.
