The gate: Single leaf, approximately 2 metres wide Open picket style, estimated 40–80kg Both the gate frame and the gate post are hollow steel square tube Street-facing front gate on a brick pier Existing hinges are old hand-made welded barrel hinges, rusted and worn Photos are attached — please look at them before making an offer. Scope of work: Support the gate, cut off the two existing welded hinges and grind the surfaces flush Weld the gate-side half of each new hinge to the gate frame. Tack weld and check alignment first, then complete the welds using a staggered sequence to avoid distortion Mark out, drill and bolt the post-side half to the hollow post using through-bolts with backing washers or plates, or rivnuts — not self-tapping screws alone, as the top hinge carries a tensile load Check the gate swings level, closes correctly and does not scrape Clean the welds and touch up all bare metal with cold galvanising primer and a matching topcoat Hinges: I will supply weld-on / bolt-on gate hinges rated to at least 150kg. Please tell me in your offer: What fixing method you would use on the hollow square post Whether you need me to purchase any specific bolts, rivnuts or backing plates so I can have them on site before you arrive I have a second gate of the same type. Replace only the damaged/raised section of the timber boundary fence shown in the photos. The section was lifted and damaged when the adjacent tree was removed. Supply and install matching timber fencing, securely supported and aligned with the existing fence. Remove and dispose of the damaged timber. Very important: the replacement fence must have a flat, level top line and must not be raised or uneven like the existing damaged section. Please ensure the new section is properly level and aligned with the adjoining fence.
