Find a fence installation professional in Kew VIC

I need a welder or metalworker to replace the two hinges on a wrought iron garden gate. This budget is for labour only. I will supply and pay for the hinges and fixings separately. Please do not include hardware costs in your offer. The gate: Single leaf, approximately 2 metres wide Open picket style, estimated 40–80kg Both the gate frame and the gate post are hollow steel square tube Street-facing front gate on a brick pier Existing hinges are old hand-made welded barrel hinges, rusted and worn Photos are attached — please look at them before making an offer. Scope of work: Support the gate, cut off the two existing welded hinges and grind the surfaces flush Weld the gate-side half of each new hinge to the gate frame. Tack weld and check alignment first, then complete the welds using a staggered sequence to avoid distortion Mark out, drill and bolt the post-side half to the hollow post using through-bolts with backing washers or plates, or rivnuts — not self-tapping screws alone, as the top hinge carries a tensile load Check the gate swings level, closes correctly and does not scrape Clean the welds and touch up all bare metal with cold galvanising primer and a matching topcoat Hinges: I will supply weld-on / bolt-on gate hinges rated to at least 150kg. Please tell me in your offer: What fixing method you would use on the hollow square post Whether you need me to purchase any specific bolts, rivnuts or backing plates so I can have them on site before you arrive I have a second gate of the same type. If this job goes well I will book you for that one as well — you are welcome to quote both leaves together if you prefer. Requirements: Own MIG or stick welding equipment, plus angle grinder, drill and metal drill bits Access to power, or your own generator Demonstrated experience with gate and fence welding — please mention similar jobs in your offer

Replace only the damaged/raised section of the timber boundary fence shown in the photos. The section was lifted and damaged when the adjacent tree was removed. Supply and install matching timber fencing, securely supported and aligned with the existing fence. Remove and dispose of the damaged timber. Very important: the replacement fence must have a flat, level top line and must not be raised or uneven like the existing damaged section. Please ensure the new section is properly level and aligned with the adjoining fence.

I need a tradesperson to fix the pool fence gate hinges at my property in Kew (3101). The pool gate was flagged as non-compliant in a recent safety inspection. The issues are: The gate does not reliably close and latch from any position. The gate does not close properly when a small force (about 250g up or down) is applied near the latch. What needs to be done: Adjust the hinge tension so the gate self-closes and latches every time. If the hinges cannot be adjusted, they will need to be replaced with compliant self-closing pool gate hinges (hinges must be at least 900mm apart or fitted with non-climbable caps). Goal: Make the pool gate fully compliant with AS 1926.1 – 2012 standards so it passes reinspection before the due date. Please provide: A quote for the adjustment or replacement. Confirmation that you have experience with pool safety compliance.

We require 2x timber gates to be built and then fitted to the two side returns. There is an existing gate at the front of the property, and would like the gates built to match (timber, merbau). Painting is not required. Also, the gates need to be fitted with latches. Hardware (timber, posts, hinges, latches, etc.) to be provided by the builder. Posts are in a monument powder coated metal, would like made to match. Per the photos there are existing gates which are to be removed. On the right side return there are existing posts which can remain in situ, so the gate can be installed onto these posts. On the left side return, 2x new metal posts will need to be supplied and installed. Further, due to the size of the gap, a small fence will need to be constructed, which the post/gate will connect to (you can see a temp installation in place today in the photos). Inspection welcome. Any questions, please post, thanks, Justin
