What do console repair services include?

The game console repair service includes all the tasks necessary to make a non-working or malfunctioning game console work as intended. To repair popular consoles like the PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch, your console repairman can do troubleshooting followed by the needed repairs. After completing the repairs, they can test the system to ensure the console is back to its original working order.

Troubleshooting the problem

Your console repair specialist begins by inspecting the different functions and components of your gaming console. They may also check each game disc for dirt or scratches if reading or loading errors occur. Your specialist inspects the cables, controllers, connection ports for issues. The monitor or TV and the Wi-Fi are checked as appropriate for any video, audio or connectivity problems. Once the problem is found, your console repair specialist works on the necessary fixes.

Checking connections

Your console repairman checks all the connections that lead to and from the gaming console. This includes the HDMI cables, the HDMI ports on both the TV or monitor and the console, the power plugs and the controller ports. Your specialist can also check your internet for connectivity problems and do the appropriate fixes.

Cleaning the internal parts

Defective gaming consoles can trace some of their problems to issues with heat management. The cooling fan usually causes this, along with the heat sink and other internal parts choked with dirt and debris.

Your console repair specialist disconnects the console, shuts off the power and opens your game console’s case. They then clean the fan, heat sink, hard disk if any, and other parts with a non-static brush or blast from a can of compressed air. The case is reassembled once all the cleaning is done.

Rewiring the console and controllers

Some issues on your gaming console or its parts may be due to wires that have snapped or got cut from excessive bending. Your console repair specialist can check the wires on the controllers, HDMI cable or other connecting cables, and the power cable. Should any cut wires be discovered, your specialist can install new wires and splice or solder new connections.

Replacing the non-working components

Any parts that no longer work on your consoles, such as the cooling fan on your PS4 or Xbox or the PS4 hard disk can be replaced if necessary. Note that your specialist may not have the replacement parts ready, so you must purchase these. Some specialists may offer to go to the console repair store to get these parts for you for a small additional fee.

Testing the game console after repair

After your hired repair specialist has applied the fixes, they can test the console. They can check that the game loads up and works, both controllers function and respond as they should, and the video, audio and internet connectivity work as expected. If any issues arise, your repair specialist repeats the diagnostic and repair process until the console works without any problems.

Replace my broken shower taps

$100

North Ward VIC, Australia

15th Apr 2025

Our shower tap handle spins but the water won’t turn on unless you are forceful when turning the tap. We have purchased a new set of taps to replace the old ones. These need to be installed. The current tap doesn’t have a screw or Allen key adjustment release to remove the tap head. However we have brought a similar style pair of taps to replace the current ones that does have an Allen key release feature. We live in South Yarra and are available most days of the week.

Stav repaced our leaking shower taps with new ones. Super quick work. Knew exactly where to find the water mains in the apartment, worked really quickly and even quietly with our sleeping infant in the next room. Top stuff

Handyman - replace door handle, install two wall racks, door stops

$200

Melbourne CBD VIC 3000, Australia

1st Apr 2025

I need: 1. A door handle changed over to a new one. The new handle will be supplied (pictured) and just requires two holes to be drilled in the correct place. 2. Two small door stops installed on the skirting board for internal doors (these will be supplied and just require a single hole to be drilled in the correct place). 3. Two clothes racks (will be supplied, see picture) to be mounted on a bathroom plaster wall (not tiles). I want to make sure this is done securely, i.e. to the studs, or whatever is the best way to do this. I also have a number of other jobs/carpentry items that I would like some advice/to be quoted on separately, like installing some shelving in a cupboard, putting a trim on some external windows and mounting some other items on the walls. The job is in CBD Melbourne. Happy to adjust the price if additional tools or time are required, as I want to make sure everything is done well.

Ramsn was fantastic: everything you could possibly want from an AirTasker! He was prompt and clear in his communication, he was early for the job, he worked efficiently and with a high degree of skill, and he even advised me on several possible solutions to issues beyond the scope of the original job. Could not recommend enough!

2 people to carry wardrobe parts upstairs, assemble, secure on wall.

$222

Brunswick VIC 3056, Australia

26th Mar 2025

2 pieces of Temple and Webster wardrobe, 3 doors each, in 4 long boxes 37 kilos each. Boxes are on ground floor and need to be lifted by two people to bedroom upstairs (about 10 steps) and assembled based on directions. Assembly needs two people. Then secure on wall (parts to secure provided). You will need screwdriver and drill

Saeed came and managed a two man job by himself like it was a piece of cake. He helped me rearrange the bedroom space to make the wardrobes fit and took extra care in securing it. He helped me find the best solution and advised me on safety and care. He was super quick, the most polite airtasker or handy-man I've ever encountered and very efficient, accurate, careful not to damage anything. 10000 out of 10. Fully recomend!
