Current mac desktop is running slow and laggy on start up and when programs operating. Examples include, slow up take when user log in, application start up can sometimes take minutes, chrome & safari slow to respond and operate even with suitable wifi. I have an Apple iMac 2017 model it's been lightly used over the years for a home office mostly reading plans architectural drawings running a couple of accounting packages emails internet browsing what is happened of late is that it has started slowing down dramatically on startup taking more than three to four minutes also the time wheel just keeps toggling whilst I try to open multiple pages and do work sometimes excruciating where I've got to wait for over 5 minutes for it to respond I have called Apple we have done a few tests over the phone on the computer to check its health taking the hard drive and the system itself it all turned out well nothing wrong I'm running a apple hard drive and 8 gig of memory it has two extra slots for another 8 gig of memory which I'm thinking I might do and upgrade the hard drive within external sdd attached to it I would like someone to help me clean up the computer starting with files , desktop images downloads pretty much a deep clean upload a lot of items already on the system so I don't lose them as I will need to transfer them to a new computer eventually , photo's plans invoices must be experiencing this area must be a house call

Hi there, I borrowed a friends MacBook Pro. 2015, to use for study, but…in resetting and trying to upgrade to the most recent and available operating system, I managed to completely wipe the hard drive / operating system. This is a large Apple Mac desktop device that I use less frequently these days than perhaps in the past but I have a support.apple.com/mac/start-up and a flashing folder with a ? In it. I’ve tried the basic tricks but it is still not starting correctly and possibly needs a review as it has been performing slowly of recent times as well.
