Top Oven Repair related questions

To start, unplug the power and remove the damaged parts. You may need to wrap some areas in electrical tape to do this repair safely. Disconnect the wires and remove the bottom element by removing the screws. Replace the heating element by screwing it into the back of the oven, plug the oven in, and test it to see if it works. For safe oven repair jobs, it’s best to request a qualified appliance repair Tasker here on Airtasker.

Start your oven door repair by unplugging the oven or turning off the gas supply. Remove the door and examine the hinges - they may need to be replaced. Check the door springs and rubber gasket as well, since these may need replacing. This kind of job takes a few hours, including a trip to the shop for replacement parts. For easy oven door repair or oven handle repair, get an oven engineer or handyperson near you.

First, make sure your oven and wiring project complies with local electrical regulations. Switch off your power, then put the oven near its final position in your kitchen. Allow enough cable length, then locate the wires. Make sure connections are secure, then use a frame-grounding connector. Once this is done, reactivate the power and test to see if your oven works. For safer installation, it’s best to book a qualified electrician or oven installation specialist through Airtasker.

First, turn off the gas, then wrap the pipe threads. Attach a gas stove connector to the gas line and screw a street elbow into the gas port. Tighten the connector nuts and fittings, then check for leaks. Lastly, move the range or oven in place and check if it works. Since working with your gas connection can be dangerous, we recommend booking a Gas Safe registered engineer to install your oven for you.

Yes, they can. You can install built-in ovens below a hob or into a set of custom-made cabinets. You can even place them under a hob - be sure to leave enough clearance between the hob and the oven. While you can do the installation yourself in a couple of hours, you can always choose to book an oven installation specialist right here on Airtasker.

You can find a local oven repair specialist right here on Airtasker! With just one post, we can connect you with multiple local oven engineers, and you can receive their quotes in minutes. If you’re lucky, you may even be able to find an oven engineer who’s available today! Hiring one is especially helpful for those of you who need the oven for business.

What does an oven repairs include?

Our oven repair and installation specialists can handle different types of oven problems and can install various types of ovens, such as built-in ovens and commercial units. Your oven engineer will take charge of assessing your oven’s needs and will bring the necessary tools for repair or installation. Here’s what to expect when you book an oven repair specialist through Airtasker:

Tools and supplies

The oven engineer will arrive with the necessary tools and parts for your oven. This may include a screwdriver, a flashlight to check the inside, replacement bulbs or valves, and so on. No need to run down to the store or bring out your tool kit at home - just let your Tasker take care of everything. Of course, your Tasker can finish the job faster if you provide your oven’s brand and model in your task post, and be as detailed as possible when describing what you need (e.g. “fan oven repair for X brand and model oven”). This is especially true for those in need of repairs.

Oven installation

Whether you just purchased a standalone oven or one that’s built into your range, a Tasker can help you get it up and running. Typically, Taskers can handle gas, electric, and dual fuel ovens, though it’ll help if you specify what kind you have in your task post.

If you have any special requests, such as placing the oven under a countertop or into a built-in cabinet, your Tasker can help you do this as well. Do note that you may need the help of a licensed electrician or gas fitter when working with your oven’s power supply.

Oven repair

If your oven has been going wonky, it’s time to get an oven repair specialist to drop by your kitchen. Taskers can typically handle common oven requests, such as oven fan repair and built-in oven repair. If both your range and oven are troublesome, you can also request stoves oven repair via Airtasker.

While most oven repairs boil down to just a faulty part that needs replacement, it’s better to get the whole appliance checked by a specialist. Or, you may need to get your oven cleaned more regularly! Whatever the problem is, your Tasker can help you troubleshoot and solve it so that you can go back to baking and roasting in an instant.

Oven repair and installation isn’t the only kitchen task you can get done with the help of Airtasker. You can also request a plumber, cooker hood specialist, fridge engineer, and many others - tap the “Post a task” button to get started.

Repair oven (maybe bust fuse?)

£150

Walham Green, Greater London

18th Feb 2026

Recently had a leak, and plumber discovered that some piping had become 'energised' (i.e. had a current through it). Turned off the electrics at the fuse box, but upon turning the fuse back on, the oven no longer turns on. Unclear what caused the initial issue (kitchen was fully replaced just a few years back, so wiring should be sound), or what is now wrong with the oven (not qualified to check fuses in different places etc.). Oven is only a few years old. I presume it’s a broken fuse, but not sure where.
