The inspection pointed out two faults that need to be remedied: 1) Gaps between the door leaf and frame to the top or side are excessive giving gaps more than 5mm; meaning cold smoke or intumescent seals will be ineffective. If the door leaf cannot be adjusted to reduce the gap, the gap will need to be reduced by re- lipping the door leaf or installation of a replacement door leaf. Have the door leaf re-lipped by a suitably competent tradesperson in accordance with BM Trada accepted repair technique Gap top of door 8.4mm Threshold gap 9.8mm 2) Installed hinges are unsuitable for the application and may fail in the event of a fire.
