Electrician needed – faulty immersion switch and outdoor sensor lights, plus optional outside taps Task description I need a qualified and insured electrician to attend my home and deal with the following: 1. Immersion heater/hot-water switch The immersion switch is faulty and appears to remain permanently on. The switch itself was only replaced approximately three months ago, so it may be defective, incorrectly installed or there may be another fault in the unit. Please diagnose the issue and repair or replace the switch as necessary. The work should include checking that the immersion heater, wiring and isolation are operating safely. 2. Two linked outdoor motion-sensor lights There are two external lights connected so that both activate when either motion sensor detects movement. Recently, the lights have been coming on and then remaining on rather than switching off. Please diagnose and repair the fault, including checking the sensors, settings, wiring and light fittings. Replacement sensors or fittings may be required. 3. Optional: outside taps I also have two outside taps that do not readily accept modern hose connectors. It would be helpful if the same tradesperson could either replace the tap or fit a suitable adaptor/intermediate connection. Please confirm whether you can undertake this work as well. Please provide a quotation showing: * Labour and estimated materials (I can buy materials separately). * Whether the quotation covers diagnosis as well as the repair. * Your electrical qualifications and any insurance. * Whether you can also deal with the outside tap. I have provided photographs of the switches, lights and can provide a picture of the tap before attendance. Please bring appropriate testing equipment and advise in advance if you would like me to purchase any particular replacement fittings.

I’ve tried to hang a new pendant light in our lounge but I must have wired it incorrectly as it tripped the fuse (assume a short circuit). I need someone to check and rewire it, and also to replace the blown fuse in my fuse board.

Provide 2 costs to (a) rewire the complete flat with chasing walls new location of plug sockets, upgrade DB certify works as a new installation (b) I will carry out all the preparation, chasing walls install of new sockets and feed all cables back to the existing DB, This means on the 2nd cost for you to connect all cables to a new DB fitted by yourself and certify.To do this I will need a first visit to leave 1 feed only coming off a MCB to a plug socket so I can then rip out all other cables but still have one source of power to work with for lighting and power tools. The ignition for our indesit gas cooker has stopped working. It no longer clicks when the button is pressed.

Just bought a flat and moved in... cooker hood wasnt working and upon closer inspection the power cords were all taped up (see pics). No idea what these are or why they had been taped up. Don't know if something can be done to get the current hood plugged in and working or whether a new one is required. Can anyone take a look?

We are looking for an electrician to help us with the electrics in the garden office we are planning to build over the next month. We hired someone to build it but need help sorting the electrics which would include the need for the appropriate certificates. We are thinking of one ceiling light and 4-6 plugs depending on cost/advice. The garden office is 3.11m length x 2.29m width x 2.28m height.
