Hi there, The window in the bedroom won’t close. I think the lock is broken. The oven has broken down. There is no heat, just the fan working. And the cooker hobs go on and off so none of them stay on to be able to cook. Also, when I try to use the microwave, the fuse always goes down in the fuse box and then all of the plug sockets in the living room stop working including the microwave. Looking for a qualified electrician to reconnect an oven and electric hob to existing wiring in a newly fitted kitchen. The wiring is already in place — it just needs connecting. Additionally, we’re having slab-slab tiling done on Thursday and Friday this week, and will need some help with faceplate adjustment. If the job is done before the tiling, we’d just like provision of some appropriately sized screws and spacers. If it’s done after the tiling, it would be great to have the faceplates adjusted and fitted so they sit flush with the new tiled surface.

The existing wooden worktop is slightly too small for the new appliance. The worktop requires about 2cm to be removed from one side with an electric saw. Requires appropriate sealant to be applied around hob/worktop. The hob needs to be wired into an existing “choc block” connector by a qualified electrician in order to comply with the landlord’s regulations. Estimated job should take 2hours max.

It is a straightforward install by just connecting the wires as there is separate switch for the hob on the wall. The cable going into the switch has 3 wires - neutral, live and earth.
